At S3 Medicine Hat, a Production Supervisor moves quickly amongst several workstations as part of an energetic team to form, finish, and package high-quality products for a distinguished customer base in the farm equipment marketplace.
Job Overview:
Oversee completion of non-conformances and corrective actions addressed to the Production Department.
Complete Performance Evaluations for direct reports, as well as review all evaluations completed by Lead Hands and Shift Supervisors
Monitor staffing requirements and work with the Human Resources Department to screen applicants for possible new hires, mediate and help resolve disputes with subordinates and approve timesheets for reporting employees.
Coach, train and develop staff and work with Supervisors and Lead Hands to design development plans for subordinates and monitor and report to the Director of Business Development any requirements for major equipment purchase or repairs
Monitor Production schedule and make recommendations regarding scheduling runs or part runs and address any major safety concerns.
Continue to work on increased productivity and monitor and report to the Director of Business Development and over time requirements.
Attend meetings as required, these may include: Group Leader, Production, Quality, Safety, Production Scheduling, Process Improvement, and Management meetings.
Monitor Production shop supply purchases and the progress of special projects related to plant engineering. And the overall Production plan operations.
Work closely with the Engineering Division on any new products or jig designs and perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Business Development.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of ERP systems and the ability to learn new systems
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes (minimum of 3 years experience) and the ability to manage a range of priorities
Positive and cooperative team player with the capability of working with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate effectively and to inspire confidence from supervisors, peers and subordinates.
