Newfoundland Broadcasting Company Ltd., a privately held company encompassing CJON-TV (NTV, Newfoundland Television - Canada's Superstation) and CHOZ-FM (OZFM - The Rock of the Rock), is seeking an experienced Controller to join our dynamic team. CJON-TV is Newfoundland's only privately held and cross-province television station, while CHOZ-FM is the province's only cross-province radio station. We are looking for an accounting professional to manage financial operations and ensure accuracy and compliance across the organization.

What You Will Be Doing
- Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Managing and controlling budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
- Coordinating financial audits and compliance processes.
- Ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions and records.
- Managing cash flow, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Implementing and maintaining effective accounting systems and controls.
- Providing financial analysis and advice to support decision-making.
- Supporting management with financial planning and strategic initiatives.
- Leading a small accounting team to ensure smooth operations.
- Other accounting and financial duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
- Professional experience in accounting or financial management.
- CPA designation or a related post-secondary education in accounting or finance.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software and financial reporting systems.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Leadership experience in managing a small team would be an asset.
