Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations; Seniors, Hospice & Palliative Care, the Clinical Manager ensures that all services provided by staff are in keeping with the Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy of the Good Shepherd and that the delivery of quality care is person-centered. Through responsible leadership and effective role modelling, the Clinical Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day demonstration of the Mission, Vision and Values.
The Clinical Manager is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the interdisciplinary team within the Seniors programs: Assisted Living, Personal Support Services, SAM Program and the Professional Services team. Seniors Programs support adults and high-risk seniors, so they are able to remain living as safe and independent as possible within their community. Care is coordinated to provide scheduled and/or unscheduled services by the multidisciplinary team.

How You Will Make an Impact
The Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing the clinical practices of all staff within each program, working toward clinical targets, monthly statistical reporting, and quality assurance activities. In collaboration with the leadership team, the role supports enhanced care delivery through community partnerships, local committee involvement, and the professional development of team members by providing skill transfer, role modeling, education, and facilitating regular meetings. The Clinical Manager participates in community events to promote the organization's services and ensures compliance with health and safety standards. Additionally, the role involves on-call duties, participation in organizational management teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of program services.
The Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing interdisciplinary team communication and scheduling related to client centered service delivery. This includes maintaining client confidentiality in accordance with PHIPA (Ont) and organizational policies, while consistently presenting Good Shepherd Centers' services in a positive light and adhering to customer service and Code of Conduct guidelines. The role involves engaging with community partners to enhance client service, reduce service duplication, and ensure appropriate referrals, as well as conducting initial and ongoing client assessments to determine program suitability. This role ensures communication of any changes in client status or service plans to PSW staff, ensuring that relevant information is shared effectively with the interdisciplinary team. The Clinical Manager addresses health, and safety concerns and ensures that work-related documents are up to date for safe service provision. Additionally, the role includes completing annual client satisfaction surveys, managing staff performance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards to minimize risks.
Management:
The position includes managing attendance, performance, payroll, and scheduling in accordance with company policies and collective agreements, while ensuring staff safety and fiscal responsibility through supply tracking and ordering. The Clinical Manager ensures the hiring of qualified staff in line with funding and collective agreements, participates in recruitment and orientation, and leads accreditation preparation while maintaining policies and standards. The role also includes monthly utilization tracking for the Assisted Living program, facilitating open and respectful communication within the team, and providing ongoing performance feedback. The Clinical Manager prepares and conducts performance evaluations, interprets and administers policies, and supports the PSS Program Supervisor in managing staff. Additionally, the role supervises academic student placements and volunteers, contributing to a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
In terms of administrative responsibilities, the Clinical Manager participates in program-relevant stakeholder conference calls, meetings, and events as required, collects and submits necessary statistics, and manages staff timecards (using ADP), including providing coverage for Supervisors during vacation periods and ensures health and safety audits and inspections are completed as required. You will observe all Good Shepherd health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
- Minimum 2 years' senior management or administrative leadership experience in the health care sector with relevant levels of responsibilities, including experience leading interdisciplinary teams, regulated and unregulated healthcare staff.
- A diploma, degree or certificate from an accredited institution in health or a related-field or education that is related but not specific, combined with related work experience. Nursing leadership experience preferred
- Standard First Aid/CPR certification and WHMIS training.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast paced and changing work environment.
- Creativity and flexibility in achieving desired outcomes.
- Hospitable in dealings with clients/public / volunteers / staff, and other key stakeholders.
- Available and responsive to the needs of others, with a respectful and compassionate demeanor.
