Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant
Location: Mississauga, ON (Full-Time, In-Office)
About the Role
Our client, a reputable public accounting firm, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their growing team in Mississauga. This is a full-time, in-office position that offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic client base while leveraging your expertise in tax and accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Planning:
- Prepare and review complex corporate and personal tax returns in compliance with Canadian and U.S. tax regulations.
- Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, including cross-border and multi-jurisdictional tax considerations.
- Financial Reporting:
- Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with IFRS and Canadian/U.S. GAAP standards.
- Research and address technical accounting and tax issues to support decision-making.
- Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with clients to deliver tailored tax solutions and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Represent clients during tax audits and liaise with tax authorities when needed.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
- Assist in the development and delivery of in-house tax training programs.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (mandatory).
- Completion of an in-depth tax course (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting environment with a focus on tax.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and both U.S. and Canadian GAAP reporting standards.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
