Job Title: Steel Saw / Utility Operator

Job Summary:

Munck Cranes Inc. is seeking a skilled Steel Saw Operator to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for the precise cutting of steel materials, contributing to our high-quality standards. Your expertise in operating saw machinery and attention to detail will ensure the accuracy and quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain steel saw machinery to cut steel components according to work orders and engineering drawings.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished pieces (recommended but not required).
• Use a grinder to smooth and finish steel pieces, ensuring they meet required specifications.
• Inspect and measure finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Monitor and control the quality of the cutting and grinding processes, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired results.
• Work with the fabrication team to optimize production efficiency and workflow.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Proven experience as a steel saw operator or in a similar role within a fabrication shop.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with saw machinery and tools.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements.
• Physical Stamina: Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy materials (minimum 50 lbs).
• Safety Commitment: Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety regulations.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Additional Skills: Capability to operate an overhead crane (recommended but not required).
