THE ROLE

The Inventory Control Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring high inventory accuracy by overseeing a robust cycle count process, training users, auditing transactions and identifying root causes with inventory errors. Working closely with the warehouse and operations teams, this role focuses on refining inventory processes, maintaining quality, and supporting efficient stock management to meet customer expectations and operational goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management
    • Ensure inventory accuracy through regular monitoring, validation, and tracking of inventory movements.
    • Investigate and escalate discrepancies, continuously refining procedures to improve accuracy.
    • Manage Warehouse Management System (WMS) data, including item master setup, and location and replenishment accuracy.
  • Cycle Counting & Auditing
    • Conduct daily Cycle counts following company policies and customer standards.
    • Investigate inventory variances, adjust records, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Inventory Quality Control
    • Coordinate control of damaged/defective products and customer claims, ensuring inventory changes are processed correctly.
    • Provide feedback and reporting on inventory accuracy based on audits, counts, and system errors.
  • Communication & Collaboration
    • Communicate inventory issues and resolutions with the Warehouse Supervisor and customers as needed.
    • Work closely with the warehouse team to optimize inventory placement and flow.
    • Update and maintain inventory control procedures and assist in training team members on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Reporting
    • Report on inventory control activities and performance in alignment with management and customer service agreements.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

    • At least 2 years of experience in inventory control, ideally with a Warehouse Management System (Epicor P21 is an asset)
    • Raymond Reach/Forklift license
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
    • Service-oriented, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
    • Excellent organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
    • Completion of secondary school preferred; a diploma in Logistics Management is an asset.
