What We Offer:
- Location: Calgary, AB
- Competitive Wages
- Type: Full Time-Ongoing with possibility of permanent role
- Provide daily guidance and motivation to dock workers, addressing performance issues and escalating concerns as needed.
- Communicate monthly performance statistics to the team, facilitating improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial transportation, safety, and employment legislation.
- Promptly report and investigate incidents, implementing corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and address safety concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address operational challenges.
- Supervise dock workers, both employees and contractors, and oversee scheduling adherence.
- Perform additional duties related to dock operations as required.
- Post-secondary education in operations, logistics, or business preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience in transportation or warehousing, with previous leadership experience.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and engage teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based programs, with experience using Truckmate.
- Knowledge of industry-related equipment such as forklifts and trailers is an asset.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is beneficial.
