Civil Foreman

Reporting to: Superintendent
Compensation: $40.00-$45.00/hr + 11.5% vacation/Statutory holiday pay plus, $2.95/hr pension contribution and union benefits
Chew Excavating, a Ralmax Company, has openings for Civil Foreman in both our Utilities and Heavy Civil Divisions.
The successful candidates will be responsible for day-to-day management of their crew, equipment, materials, and sub-trades to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:
- Manage crew, equipment, and subtrades to cohesively complete a project
- Collaborate with Superintendent, Project Management, and Clients to ensure all aspects of the project are completed as expected
- Reading engineering drawings, coordinating the days tasks, and managing paperwork
- Leader in health and safety as well as company culture
- Planning for the work ahead and communicating requirements to Superintendent and Project Management
- Working with the crew for all operations including earthworks, excavation, underground utilities, and surface work preparation
Skills and Experience:
- Prefer 4+ years of experience in Civil Construction and one year running crews
- Ability to lead, motivate, and promote growth within your crew
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Familiar with excavations, preparing sites to grade, and installation of BC Hydro, Shaw, and Telus utilities
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, specifications, equipment, and OH&S guidelines
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Requirements:
- Must have a current and valid Class 5 driver's license
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
