JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Intern will gain hands-on experience with preparing journal entries, support documentation, analyzing and reconciling GL Accounts. The intern will receive exposure and experience using our SAP (ERP) system and will be exposed to our financial close processes and internal and external audit requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with Preparation of journal entries and maintenance of proper supporting documentations
- Assist the accounting team with the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings
- Assist with bank and other balance sheet reconciliation process
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements
- Assist with preparation of government surveys and annual reports
- Assist with ordering of deposit slips for stores
- Ad hoc analysis and special projects as required
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- Pursuing an Accounting/Finance or Business degree
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in Accounting or Finance
SKILLS:
- Proficiency with excel a must
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and communication skills needed
- Planning and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously
- Ability to manage deadlines
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to travel to and work from our Toronto Office following a hybrid schedule
- Must be able to work up to 28 hours per week
