As PSD continues to grow, we are thrilled to add another Asset Management Advisor to join our Advisory Team. This is a full time remote based role with the successful candidate living in British Columbia, Canada.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Profound understanding of strategic asset management concepts, including long-term planning, needs assessments, and alignment with municipal goals. Emphasis on integrating sustainable service delivery and lifecycle planning for assets to meet community needs effectively
  • Proficiency in technical writing to clearly communicate complex asset data and findings. This involves translating data insights into actionable recommendations, supporting informed decision-making for stakeholders, councils, and the public
  • Integrating climate adaptation and mitigation strategies into asset management planning which includes planning for climate impacts, assessing asset vulnerability to extreme weather, and incorporating resilience measures into lifecycle and risk management
  • Draft policies that promote sustainable asset management, including data governance, investment prioritization, and resource allocation. Policies are designed to support long-term sustainability goals and ensure infrastructure aligns with organizational priorities
  • Assess and manage risks related to asset performance and failure, implementing risk-based prioritization methods to address vulnerabilities, reduce costs, and enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure
  • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and presenting asset data to support evidence-based decision-making. This includes generating insights from data trends, visualizing findings, and preparing reports tailored for a variety of stakeholders
  • Expertise in developing financial strategies to support sustainable asset management, including cost forecasting, budgeting, and identifying funding strategies suitable for long-term asset health
  • Project planning and delivery, with a focus on setting realistic timelines, allocating resources efficiently, and ensuring projects meet defined goals and budgets. Strong organizational skills and stakeholder management are essential
  • Analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions, often under tight deadlines
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently is key to delivering results on time
  • Build rapport with colleagues, new and existing clients is essential for collaboration and driving project success
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration as Advisors often work in teams, requiring the ability to collaborate, share ideas, and contribute constructively
  • Provide leadership and training, we value collaborative leadership to help each other grow and improve
  • Facilitate the smooth adoption of new asset management practices, especially when working with municipalities or organizations new to structured asset management
  • Adjust to different client needs, industries, and working environments
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the managing, planning, implementation and application of municipal asset management procedures, practices, tools and techniques
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or Engineering Technologies diploma in Civil Engineering, Economics/Business degree, or a similar discipline
  • Familiarity with internationally recognized frameworks and standards, such as ISO 55000, AMBC Framework, and InfraGuide, to ensure asset management practices align with industry standards while meeting compliance requirements
  • P. Eng. Designation, OACETT certification, IAM Certification and/or professional engineering designation would be considered an asset
  • Supervisory experience would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate complex asset management projects to high level executives within the public sector
  • Skills in geographic information systems to analyze spatial data and map assets, which can be valuable in understanding asset distribution, environmental impact, and planning for future needs
  • Knowledge of Indigenous relations and community engagement can be invaluable for projects on traditional territories, supporting culturally sensitive planning and alignment with local values
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with previous presentation and/or training experience
