The purpose of this role is to respond to the company's emergency and non-emergency calls, maintaining and updating call logs, monitoring routes, transferring messages, directing field units, and working with the Logistics department.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, assign, and dispatch driver for delivery, pickup, or disposal.
  • Validate material/equipment and order picklist availability.
  • Ensure warehouse is organized to support receiving, storing, and shipments of product.
  • Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and document important information.
  • Maintain and update call logs, call records, and other important documentation.
  • Prioritize and organize calls according to urgency.
  • Respond to any customer issues and follow-up by coordinating with the appropriate departments or field units.
  • Operate and manage a telephone and answering machine system.
  • Respond to queries related to products and deliveries.
  • Use the phone and computer to direct crews and other field units to the appropriate sites.
  • Supervise the route and status of field units to prioritize their daily schedule.
  • Identify damaged, obsolete, or excess products/equipment/tools and arrange for disposal or sale.
  • Lead and provide year end physical inventory count.
  • Ensure material/equipment/tools have been processed and recorded prior to leaving warehouse.
  • Assist in audits for equipment/tools.
  • Ensure tasks conducted by drivers and yard men are completed with Health & Safety at the forefront of all activities.
  • Process material purchase orders in system.
  • Verify the delivery of materials entering the warehouse and matching the PO.
  • Phone sales, recommending products to customers based on their needs.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a dispatch role
  • Disposal experience is an asset
  • Ability to identify issues and participate in resolution of issues with standardization, cost reductions, and analyzing processes and procedures
  • Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate daily routines in the organization and processes for product receiving, storing and shipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, efficiency in all MS Office applications, experience in data entry
  • Ability to work well under pressure
