West Fraser is looking for a candidate to fill a role on a contract basis. The position term will be 12 months.
You'll Do:
- Collaborate with the Manager of Environmental Policy and Climate Change
- Gain an understanding of cutting-edge climate change standards and practices
- Develop skill sets in ESG reporting
- Support in internal communication of sustainability concepts
- Summarize trends in biodiversity stewardship and reporting
- Support the forwarding of scope 3 supplier interaction
- Support disclosure process development
- Forward future development of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and EPD (Environmental Product Declarations) strategy
- Provide support in working towards continuous improvement of sustainability performance within West Fraser
Strategic work during contract:
- CDP disclosure and ESG Software interface management
- Disclosure support
- Transition plan development and administration
- Scope 3 data request process development support
- Scope 3 and Value Chain strategic support
- Carbon/Sustainability intranet website content development support
- Support for Scope 3 data analytics and sustainability software deployment and transition
- Forest carbon data collection, inventory, and administrative support
- Assessment of compliance with emerging relevant standards, guidelines
You have:
- Recent graduate, or currently enrolled in a Sustainability focused, Science-based or Environmental Engineering Degree Program or Diploma at an accredited post-secondary institution
- Working knowledge of land, air, water and biodiversity issues
- Intermediate perspective on climate change and carbon policy
- Prior sustainability, forestry, agricultural or industrial experience considered an asset
- Must be available to commence work in January/February 2024
- Strong IT skills
- Strong work ethic
- Commitment to working safely and creating a safe work place
Compensation Package:
- The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The yearly salary range is between $62,500 and $72,500.
