Job Duties

  • Performance of API visual inspections of in-service pressure vessels and piping
  • Performance of NDT of in-service pressure vessels and piping.
  • Serving as a liaison with customers
  • Actively working as part of a group to build and develop new processes and procedures
  • Conduct liquid penetrant inspection
  • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects
  • Interpret and document liquid penetrant inspection
  • Prepare surface for liquid penetrant inspection
  • Use electromagnetic eddy current testing methods
  • Establish NDI techniques and calibration standards
  • Calibrate, test and interpret ultrasonic equipment
  • Set up, calibrate, operate and interpret magnetic particle, eddy current, liquid penetrant, acoustic emission, and infrared thermographic equipment
  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
  • Instruct and supervise trainees
  • Maintain test result reports

Work conditions: Standing for Extended Periods of Time, Work Under Pressure, Faced-paced Environment, Attention to Detail

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidates will, as a minimum, have the following certifications and experience:

  • Fully certified as an inspector to API 510 and API 570 standards.
  • Certification to ISO 9712 standard for UT/MT at level 3 minimum.
  • Minimum of Level 3 Penetrant Testing Certification
  • Minimum of Level 1 XRF Certification
  • Minimum Level 2 CWB Welding Inspector
  • Minimum Level 3 Magnetic Particle Testing
  • Minimum Level 3 Ultrasonic Testing
  • Proficiency in ASME section V, IX, VIII, B31.1, B31.3, CSA W59, AWS D1.1
  • Experience with in-service pressure vessel and pressure piping inspection
  • Master's degree in a related or complementary field
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Police Information Check
  • References

Additional Information:

This role may require the ability to work overtime, including weekends or holidays, and after-hours as necessary, particularly during major project rollouts or system upgrades.

Permanent/Full Time Position

Start date: ASAP

Compensation: Please note that the wage will be subject to the prevailing wage in the AB for NOC 22230 at the time of hiring. This is a Union position - the overtime rate is governed by the terms of the Union agreement to be paid in keeping with provincial employment standards.

Salary: $48.38 per hour

Hours worker per week: 40
