Job DescriptionAs a DRE, you will play a pivotal role in the engineering, design, development, validation, timing, and production release of Hard and Soft Trim systems, overhead, and lighting systems. Your responsibility will extend across all aspects of the components to ensure they meet vehicle functional objectives.
Your tasks will encompass:
Component design, development, and packaging.
Execution of Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing.
Change management and bill of material maintenance.
Offering prototype and production build support.
Overseeing CAD model management in Teamcenter.
Initiating weight reduction, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement strategies.
Communicating technical product status to management.
Supporting vehicle assembly plants with technical issues.
Assisting service teams in resolving field warranty matters.
Contributing to root cause analysis of failures.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
1-3 years of engineering experience, with a focus on designing and developing at least one of the following: Restraints, injection mold plastics, seat structures/mechanisms, lighting, and/or interior system integration.
Knowledge of injection molding, painting, and decorating plastic components.
Experience with OEM or supplier design and release.
Proficiency in NX, Catia V5, and Teamcenter.
Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R creation, and execution.
Experience with component builds and execution.
Preferred qualifications include a Master of Science in Engineering or Business, strong leadership skills, and experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Shainin Problem Solving.
