Clarenville Orangestore- Store Manager

C-Gas Management Inc (c-gas.ca) is a Newfoundland-owned group of companies operating gas stations with convenience stores, liquor stores and restaurants from St. John's to Grand Falls-Windsor under the popular names North Atlantic, Orangestore, and Sully's Market.

In seeking a Store Manager at our Orangestore in Clarenville, NL, we are looking for an experienced leader in retail operations who understands what it takes to successfully run this type of business. A high-quality candidate will bring a strong values-based approach to leading staff, managing operations and ensuring a quality customer experience.

We are situated on the Trans Canada Highway, at a busy location that also includes a North Atlantic gasbar and a provincially licensed cannabis retail outlet.

What You Will Be Doing:

The successful candidate's primary role will be to ensure a high-functioning store by demonstrating the behaviours consistent with quality leaders and engaging in the following:

  • Taking responsibility for all aspects of the store operations
  • Building positive relationships with customers with your presence in the store and the community
  • Promoting our operating philosophy of Clean, Fresh and Friendly
  • Ensuring standards related to cleanliness, inventory control and customer service are communicated to, and maintained, by staff
  • Overseeing staff scheduling and attendance management
  • Being the first point of contact for staff issues
  • Attending to after-hours work and staffing issues by being available on-call
  • Assigning work using our Connecteam app
  • Ensuring required administrative and financial accounting functions are performed each day
  • Ensuring pricing is timely and accurate for all store products
  • Engaging with vendors and following expectations for inventory control, pricing and other requirements ( for the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation, for example)
  • Ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for everyone

What You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent recognized by the government of NL
  • Experience in retail operations (preferably in convenience/gas area)
  • High quality customer service approach to all you do
  • Leadership qualities that will ensure successful operations
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide direction and maintain a positive attitude
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Flexibility in being available to address issues, and occasionally work at the store, after hours and weekends
  • The ability to work using our core service values
  • A clear criminal record check issued by the RCMP or local policing authority
