Overview

Newforce Energy Services Ltd. is a diversified oilfield services company with divisions in: pipeline construction, pipeline maintenance and integrity, facilities construction, facilities maintenance, lease & road construction, and electrical and instrumentation (E&I).

Newforce is currently looking for a Quality Control / Turnover Coordinator who is experienced in the Oil & Gas industry to join our team based out of our Sylvan Lake office.

Reports To:

The Quality Control / Turnover Coordinator will report to the Quality Control Manager and is responsible for providing advice and administrative assistance to the client, supervisors, and tradesmen in all matters related to Quality Control with support of the Quality Control Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated to safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Compile field data and reports to create accurate and timely completion of project turnovers.
  • Work with supervisors to ensure all required QC data is captured in the field/shop.
  • Ability to read and interpret ISO drawings, NDE reports and other job relevant materials.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation; ASME, CSA, ABSA, CWB, etc.
  • Keep up to date with any regulatory or legislative changes and share that information with field supervisors and key players.
  • Keep current all required training and certifications for the company and personnel (CWB certifications, small bore performance qualifications, equipment calibrations, etc.)
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately and that codes and standards are adhered to.
  • Complete turnovers and site visits as needed.
  • Assist with internal audits on site and in the yard.
  • Visually inspect joint fit up and welds.
  • Witness hydrotests as needed.
  • Test welders to company procedures as needed. (Parameters)
  • Facilitate ongoing communications with the client and ensure responsiveness to issues/requests maintaining good relations.
  • Coach and assist fellow coworkers with materials receiving and MTR's.
  • Position will generally be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday but successful applicant must be flexible on work schedule as needed for field inspections.
  • Administrative duties – finalization of binders submitted to clients, scanning and filing.
  • Other job duties as required, as the above duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Qualifications

  • CWB Welding Inspection Level 1 or 2.
  • Certification in ASME or CSA Z662 through CWB and other relevant regulators.
  • CWB Welding Supervisor (CSA W59, W47.1) an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years Quality Control in the oilfield preferred
  • Knowledge of various software suites including: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Acorn, Bluebeam/Spoolfab, Google sheets, SharePoint, Sitedocs and others.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and organization.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Detail-focused.
  • Ability to work in various working conditions ranging from outdoors to indoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ideal candidate will be driven to improve and streamline our QC process to better serve our customers.
