One of our food processing clients is looking for a 2nd Class Engineer at Stoney Creek, ON region for their manufacturing facility.
Shift : 12 hours continental rotation
Pay Rate : $45/hr
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain boilers, refrigeration systems, and auxiliary equipment in accordance with established standards and safety regulations.
Perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all mechanical and utility systems, including boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, water treatment, and electrical components.
Monitor and adjust system controls, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency in line with production demands.
Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state/provincial, and federal safety regulations, particularly regarding food processing environments.
Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Complete and maintain detailed records of daily operations, maintenance activities, safety checks, and repairs.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of energy conservation strategies.
Assist in emergency response situations and perform tasks as needed to maintain facility safety and operational integrity.
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other food safety requirements.
Qualifications:
Valid 2nd Class Power Engineer (Operating Engineer) certification.
3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing or related industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of boiler systems, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment operation and maintenance.
Familiarity with food industry safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., GMP, HACCP, etc.).
Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
