Good Shepherd is preparing to launch a new, innovative shelter that will provide emergency accommodation to individuals and domestic partnerships currently living in encampments.
This housing-focused shelter program, will offer stand-alone units for residents (and their pets) on a City-owned site at Tiffany and Barton Streets. The program team will provide intensive, adaptive supports and services to residents with highly complex barriers to finding and sustaining housing in the community.
Reporting to the Senior Program Manager the Kitchen Aide enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients through the assumed responsibility for kitchen aide and driving services.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Assisting with the preparation of foods, rinsing, washing, stacking, storage, recording of food logs, and storage.
- Delivery of prepared food from the Centre kitchen to other center's and/or catering functions.
- Will also be responsible for cleaning of dishes, cleaning kitchen area, including storage areas, and maintain vehicle cleanliness, and/or other duties that relate to kitchen aide.
- Other duties relating to kitchen aide work
What You'll Bring to Our Team
- Grade 12 education with some kitchen aide experience
- P.R. certification (or willingness to be certified) and a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity.
- Experience working in environments that accommodate pets/animals, with a readiness to support clients with companion animals; ensuring their needs are met with compassion and understanding
- Ability to work effectively in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Observe all Good Shepherd health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
