The Accounting Clerk provides administrative support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform data entry of invoices into Accpac (Sage) Accounting system on a regular basis
  • Pull and match invoices to purchase order / weekly payment run
  • Use of Microsoft Excel to consolidate vendor invoices for entry
  • Maintain /file documents and records
  • Reconcile vendor statements on a monthly basis and highlight any discrepancies for further action
  • Maintain / process change requests to vendor master
  • Assisting in Audit tasks and process as directed by B.U. Controller
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to Accounts Receivable or other departments as required / time permits
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and applications is an asset
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office
  • Strong judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential information and monetary transactions
  • Ability to meet set deadlines
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Sedentary physical demand level
  • Light strength occasional lifting of up to 10kg
  • Hand and finger dexterity required
  • Occasional standing and walking about the office required
  • Limited bending, light lifting, stretching, twisting, or climbing required
