The Care Company is looking for an awesome, self-driven Register Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to assist us with paediatric home care. Specifically, we are looking for someone with hands on experience providing Trach care to pediatric clients (0-18 years old) in the home setting.
Shifts
- All nursing assignments with The Care Company require someone who can commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule where you would see the same client for the same shift, each week, every week.
- day, evening, and overnight shifts available
- shift length can vary between 4-9 hours

- Home and school support assignments available
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
- Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
- Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
Requirements
Must have Paediatric experience with any of the following interventions:
- Tracheostomy care (suctioning, dressing maintenance, and trach changes) **Required**
- G and J tube feeding **required**
- ventilators
- Bi-pap or C-pap
- Cough assist
- Oxygenation
- Seizure monitoring
Other requirements include:
- An asset if you own a vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year
- CNO Registration and nursing certificate/diploma
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
- Valid CPR/First Aid/BLS certification
- Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
