About the Role
The Key Account Manager builds and manages indirect sales partnerships for Inbox Booths. This is a senior-level role based in Vancouver, with a focus on Key Accounts in the United States. It is a unique opportunity for professional and financial growth, as Inbox is growing rapidly.
Having focused primarily on growth in Canada, Inbox is now expanding into the U.S. market. Selling through furniture dealers, and architects and designers, is one of the fastest ways to achieve our growth targets. With the increasing demand for modular booths, Inbox Booths offers the best value proposition on the market, which drives fast-scale growth through furniture dealer partnerships. The real question is: How do we stay top of mind? That's where the magic happens in this role—through high-value touchpoints, lunch-and-learns, product updates, providing valuable information, and answering questions.
Location
Employment will be based out of our Vancouver office, with the primary focus on growing our U.S. furniture dealer partnerships. Travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Account Management: Manage and nurture relationships with a portfolio of high-value dealer & specifier accounts across the United States. You will act as the primary point of contact for all dealer & specifier inquiries, quotes and questions.
- Sales Growth: Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies, identifying new opportunities for expansion within the dealer and specifier network, and optimizing performance across existing accounts.
- Dealer Engagement: Establish and maintain regular communication with key decision-makers at dealer & specifier organizations, ensuring alignment with company goals, product offerings, and service standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze and track dealer performance metrics, including sales targets, order volumes, and inventory levels. Provide insights and recommendations to improve account profitability.
- Negotiation & Contracts: Lead negotiations for pricing, promotional offers, and terms of sale to ensure mutually beneficial agreements. Oversee the execution of contracts and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.
- Market Insights & Reporting: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and dealer needs to ensure that our offerings remain competitive. Provide regular reports on account performance, market trends, and strategic opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, operations, product management, and customer service teams to ensure the timely and effective delivery of solutions to dealer partners.
- Training & Support: Provide ongoing support and product training to dealers, ensuring they are equipped to sell effectively and represent our brand with excellence.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any dealer concerns or issues promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in key account management, business development, or sales, with a specific focus on dealer or specifier relationships. Experience in office furniture is highly preferred.
- Proven Success: A demonstrated track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets, managing large accounts, and driving revenue growth within a dealer network.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to senior stakeholders, negotiate contracts, and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of dealer organizations.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to visit dealer locations, attend industry events, and facilitate regular sales training.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Hubspot), Google Suite, and other sales-related software. Knowledge of dealer management systems is a plus.
Compensation
- OTE of $150,000 - $250,000 depending on experience
- Base Salary of 50% total compensation
- Variable compensation based on:
- Commissions on total sales through dealers
- Accelerated commissions on quarterly sales targets
