Dispatcher

Diversified Transportation is seeking a temporary Dispatcher to join our Terrace team on a contract of up to 4 weeks, with a potential opportunity for the role to become permanent. In this key position, you'll be integral to the day-to-day operations, handling driver communications, scheduling, and routing to ensure efficient service. We're looking for an industry professional with a strong commitment to customer service and passenger satisfaction. To thrive in this fast-paced role, the ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Shift details: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 11:00 am and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, with a 2-hour lunch break.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dispatch day-to-day communication regarding fleet units
• Provide tactful and professional phone assistance
• Plan, organize and respond to route, fleet, and operator issues and advise on company safety policies and procedures
• Coordinate the activities of drivers, supervisors, and fleet units using a variety of computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
• Work independently to resolve customer/passenger issues in a professional and friendly manner
• Administrative duties as required (payroll, filing, and reports)

Desired Requirements:

• Possess strong organizational skills including time management, multitasking, and remaining calm in a hectic work environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in the transportation industry is an asset
• Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, Outlook and confidence in using database systems
• Must have previous experience in administrative duties
• Extensive knowledge of Terrace and area
• Clear criminal record

Pay: $25.50 per hour
