Position Summary

As an Assistant Superintendent you will support the Superintendent and Project Manager in the successful completion of your assigned projects. You will participate in overseeing job site safety, quality, project scheduling, and will be responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of work that delivers project milestones on time and within budget, attaining or exceeding profit goals. This position reports to the Project Superintendent.

Ventana site locations are spread across the Greater Vancouver area so site locations may vary.

As an Assistant Superintendent your key accountabilities will involve:

  • Assisting the Superintendent in managing work on site to ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings and specifications.
  • Supporting the Superintendent in planning and implementing schedules, conducting inspections, determining manpower levels and material and equipment quantities, and maintaining all other site requirements.
  • Monitoring work performance to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are being followed.
  • Advising the Superintendent and Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, and scheduling difficulties and assisting in resolving these problems.
  • Maintaining and analyzing up-to-date cost reports and submitting necessary changes to ensure the project is delivered within budget.

As an Assistant Superintendent your experience and qualifications will include:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the general contracting industry.
  • Proven history of scheduling construction activities and consistently completing projects on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
