Afternoon shift 4pm-2:30am Monday – Thursday overtime Friday

Reporting to the OEE Leader, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the facilities production equipment and building maintenance.
What You'll Do:
- Read blueprints, diagrams/ schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures and, perform predictive and operation maintenance to equipment.
- Input, review and update all maintenance related requests and actions in C-works and other systems as required.
- Install, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, as required.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, lift trucks etc. to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
- Operate standard equipment including but not limited to multimeters, grinders, welders, verniers, micrometers, cutting torches, and band saw.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Use different testing and analysis to resolve problems (laser alignment tooling and vibrational analysis)
- Adjust machinery and repair (including painting duties) or replace defective parts.
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during maintenance or set-up of machinery (tack welding).
- Clean and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Construct user instructions and preventative maintenance instructions for machinery as a reference.
- Understand the transformer fabrication and manufacturing process and investigate process improvements.
- Gather quotes and follow up on pricing requests from Leader.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures while performing duties as assigned by Leader.
What You'll Need:
- Ability to Read blueprints, diagrams/ schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures and, perform predictive and operation maintenance to equipment.
- Minimum three years' experience repairing equipment in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of computer software such as MSO (project management software), Microsoft Excel/Word, Outlook.
- Technical training and/or college diploma in mechanical/electrical would be considered an asset.
- Experience with electrical, pneumatics, and controls are preferred.
- Knowledge of transformer manufacturing is considered an asset.
Skills:
- Must be well organized, self -motivated and results oriented, to ensure work assignments are completed in a timely manner.
- Have the ability to communicate professional and effectively to others.
- Must have excellent analytical and decision making abilities.
- Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (winding machines) to better understand the manufacturing process.
- Poses the strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment weighing in excess of 20 kgs.
Shift Schedule:
- Evening shift: The training will take place on the day shift and will move to an evening shift that hours will be identified at time of hire.
- This position may require extended daily hours and overtime hours as required to ensure customer needs are always met.
- Overtime is based on business needs, employees are often required to work overtime on Friday's to complete weekly targets based on business demand.
- This position may require the person to be on call.
