Job Summary:

The Accounting Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing essential support to the finance team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company.

  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval.

  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

  • Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments to vendors.

  • Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and manage collections.

  • Prepare and distribute customer invoices and statements.

  • Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Maintain payroll records and handle payroll-related inquiries from employees.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Support the finance team in budget preparation and variance analysis.

  • Generate financial reports and summaries for management review.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.

  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents and records.

  • Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
