Position Summary:

The Surgical Clinic Manager (RN) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient, and safe patient care services within the clinic. This position provides dynamic leadership to a multidisciplinary team comprising of OR, PACU, Pre/Post-op RNs, MDR, and support staff. The primary focus is maintaining operational excellence, fostering collaboration between departments, and achieving exceptional care and outcomes for Clearpoint Health patients.

The Surgical Clinic Manager plays a critical role in driving the success of Clearpoint Health by ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced healthcare leader to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Leadership and Team Management: Lead and inspire a diverse team of healthcare professionals, while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the surgical clinic, ensuring adherence to facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g., ORNAC, NAPAN, CPS, NHSF). Implement efficient workflows and processes to optimize resource utilization and enhance patient care delivery.

Quality of Service: Maintain a high standard of service delivery, focusing on patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes. Implement quality improvement initiatives and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous enhancement of care delivery processes.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between various departments within the facility to streamline patient care pathways and ensure seamless transitions across the surgical continuum.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing surgical clinic operations. Stay abreast of updates and changes in regulations, implementing necessary adjustments to policies and practices accordingly.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain compliance with all Company policies, procedures, mission and vision
  • Utilize evidence-based knowledge and prevailing standards for clinical resource team members
  • Monitor the scheduling of clinical staff in keeping with Worked Hours Per Patient targets
  • Assist in the organization and promotion of monthly educational sessions and annual development of staff at all levels
  • Monitor monthly P&L reports with the Regional Director of Operations compared to the budget
  • Conduct clinical equipment evaluation and preventative maintenance
  • Evaluate current practice through Quality and Performance Improvement measures
  • Manage accreditation maintenance and monitoring
  • Conduct monthly staff chart audits and assist in facilitating quarterly emergency drills
  • Manage incident management and reporting
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and manage change within the facility
  • Initiate and lead interviews for recruitment for team member selection
  • Assist with the orientation and support of new team members and the ongoing compliance of the team members.
  • Protect patients and team members by monitoring and adhering to infection control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substances regulations
  • Participate cooperatively and communicate effectively with team members using daily huddles and continuous rounding

Education Requirements/Experience:

  • Graduate of a recognized Nursing Program
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN), in good standing with the provincial regulatory body/college of nurses
  • Completion of an accredited peri-operative nursing program a requirement with 3-5 years in the intra-operative environment
  • BCLS/ACLS Certified and PALS, if applicable
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and empower staff to achieve organizational goals.
  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership role (e.g., Charge Nurse, Specialty Coordinator, Practice Lead)
  • General computer proficiency, including the use of all Microsoft Suite applications
  • Ability to advocate for staff to ensure a safe work environment
  • Excellent time and project management skills
