Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating strategies and procurement of business for the benefit of the business
- Develop relationships with new vendors and maintain existing relationships
- Negotiate with the vendors during the procurement process
- Be a key member of the vendor relationship management and ensure that performance is up to par
- Use business acumen to solve problems and figure out ways to accomplish procurement duties
- Preparing documents including RFX documents and utilizing the online bidding platform during procurement process
- Liaison with internal and external stakeholders during the procurement process
Qualifications
Successful candidates must have:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working as a Buyer
- Experience working in public procurement with government, municipalities, government agencies, school districts, university/colleges or similar companies is required
- Previous experience working as a buyer or procurement specialist in a fast pace and complex environment
- Extremely detail oriented with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
- Strong business and financial expertise
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to work independently and strong acumen with technology
- A designation in Supply Chain Management (SCMP) is preferred
- Communication and leadership skills are an asset when working with teams and on different projects
- Develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
