Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating strategies and procurement of business for the benefit of the business
  • Develop relationships with new vendors and maintain existing relationships
  • Negotiate with the vendors during the procurement process
  • Be a key member of the vendor relationship management and ensure that performance is up to par
  • Use business acumen to solve problems and figure out ways to accomplish procurement duties
  • Preparing documents including RFX documents and utilizing the online bidding platform during procurement process
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders during the procurement process

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working as a Buyer
  • Experience working in public procurement with government, municipalities, government agencies, school districts, university/colleges or similar companies is required
  • Previous experience working as a buyer or procurement specialist in a fast pace and complex environment
  • Extremely detail oriented with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Strong business and financial expertise
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to work independently and strong acumen with technology
  • A designation in Supply Chain Management (SCMP) is preferred
  • Communication and leadership skills are an asset when working with teams and on different projects
  • Develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
