Salary: $20.00-$22.00
The Embroidery Machine Operator is responsible for producing complete specialized embroidery projects in compliance with job specifications and in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. Coordinates workload schedule to meet customer time frame requirements while achieving optimum productivity. Performs daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment to ensure optimum output. Works closely with other team members to exceed customer expectations.
Machine Operations:
- Perform machine operating and packing functions as noted on work order/job tickets.
- Operate equipment / machine to produce orders.
- Retrieve the correct work order and load the job into the machine according to specifications.
- Responsible for timely and quality output of all assigned jobs from docket review to inventory
- Visually inspect the job for imperfections and adjust accordingly.
- Package jobs, complete work orders, tickets, and delivery receipts as necessary and placed in their assigned areas.
- Coordinate with all departments including shipping to maintain the production workflow and meet job deadlines.
- Coordinate daily with shipping for pickups and manage hat inventory.
- Perform quality controls on the assigned machine / equipment.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns, conduct minor repairs, and perform routine maintenance.
- Maintain knowledge of safety equipment.
- Responsible for cleaning and machine setup of assigned equipment/machine
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of embroidery experience.
- Experience with digitization is an asset
- Experience operating Tajima machinery is an asset
- High school diploma/GED with experience or vocational/technical certification.
- Previous machine knowledge/experience is an asset.
- Previous experience in operating machinery is an asset.
- Proficient knowledge of applicable garment applications
- Strong interpersonal skills e.g. working well with others, communication, positive attitude.
- Strong computer skills
- Good written, verbal and mathematical skills.
- Good attention to detail and hand eye coordination.
- Able to work independently and as a member of the team.
- Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and attention to workstation.
- Meet or exceed minimum test results as specified by the hiring manager.
Working Conditions:
- Standing for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day.
- Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and twisting is required.
- Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Exposure to ink and chemical fumes, and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder.
- Appearance at all times must represent the company image.
- Fast-paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
- Additional hours may be required due to operational requirements.
