The QA Test Engineer will work closely with the Development and Product Management teams to assist in the definition of Product or Project requirements in addition to the test activities. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of test cases, test data, tooling, test automation, inter-team communication, and test result communication.

What you will do:

  • Obtain and maintain an advanced level of knowledge on the core testing tech-stack of Tulip:
    • Risk based testing and risk analysis
    • Test case design using the following techniques:
      • Boundary value analysis
      • Equivalence partitioning
      • Data Flow / Activity flow diagramming
      • State transition
      • Failure mode analysis
      • Decision tables
    • Gherkin for test case writing
    • API interrogation using Postman
    • Javascript, or other scripting language for test scripting
    • x-code for device log monitoring
    • SQL for database level verifications
    • GCP log analysis, Charles Proxy or Chrome Dev-tools for traffic monitoring
    • Knowledge and understanding of FTP
    • Linux command line
  • Be hands-on with test planning, estimating, test design and test execution activities on the project or Sprint team.
  • Chair and drive defect triage meetings and demos with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create, and maintain test suites, test runs and test plans using the company test case management software.
  • Publish and communicate test status reports as required.
  • Participate, influence and/or make Go, No-Go decisions based on evidence provided resulting from test activities.
  • Design exhaustive functional, end-to-end and integration test scripts from user stories and other technical specifications.
  • Test the underlying API web services using test harnesses or test stubs.
  • Apply risk analysis methodologies that align with the project development approach.
  • Prioritize testing tasks, ensure milestones, activities, tasks are completed as scheduled.
  • Coordinate code deployment, upgrades and testing across numerous environments on various technology platforms.
  • Communicate, or address scope changes that may impact testing (timeline, costs, risks).
  • Automate repeatable tests using the company test automation framework.

What you bring:

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience testing web-based and mobile applications
  • Experience with Eggplant Testing Tool is a huge bonus!
  • Past experience with the following tools or similar:
    • Qase
    • Jira
    • Selenium Webdriver, Appium
    • Postman / API Fortress
    • Charles proxy / Fiddler / GCP logs
    • X-code for log monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Experience in working in teams run using the Agile methodology.
  • Proficient in deriving risks and designing test cases from user stories, use cases, requirements specifications, UX design diagrams, infrastructure design diagrams and other technical documents.
  • Proficient in performing functional and integration (manual) testing with multi-tiered application environments.
  • Proficient in developing test plans and strategies and can lead test execution activities for complex projects.

Bonus skills:

  • Experience working in CI/CD in any cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Oracle, Azure)
