Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Project Accountant is responsible for full-cycle Accounts Receivables, Project Reporting and related day-to-day accounting functions of the ProSlide group of companies, including creating and posting invoices, posting journal entries, budget preparation, project variance analyses, cash flow and bank reconciliations projections and reporting, ensuring effective, accurate, and timely financial data. This position is also responsible for supporting project managers and project work towards effective and timely completion.

YOUR CHALLENGE:
- Provide oversight and maintain overall responsibility for full-cycle accounts receivable
- Issuing invoices for projects on an as needed basis based on billing milestones and discussions with project managers
- Receivables management including actively following up on outstanding receivables and flowing information into rolling cash flow forecasts
- Increase visibility and actively engage inter department groups on AR throughout the organization
- Responsible for ensuring project financial data is accurately reflected in monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Monitor project budget performance versus actual spend and provide variance analysis relating to spend and margin
- Review of project financials for incorrect cost allocations and verifying cost accuracy of projects
- Input and maintain budget and forecast data for multiple projects through the project life cycle
- Actively participate in post project reviews and identify project performance trends, providing financial feedback to key stakeholders in inter departmental groups
- Attend project kickoff meetings to understand payment terms and contract details, weekly WIP meetings for project status updates, and monthly margin sheet meetings to review project financials
- Forecast monthly project revenue to assist management and sales with decision making and maintaining annual budget goals
- Perform treasury management responsibilities including cash flow and financial trade instruments
- Increase accuracy of corporate cash flow forecast to help assist with solid commitments of payment dates to suppliers
- Work with inter departments and banks on timely and accurate issuance of LCs and liaising with stakeholders on LC submissions
- Work with Clients, banks and credit facilities on issuance of bank guarantees per contractual agreements and streamline cash flow
- General Accounting responsibilities for day-to-day general ledger transactions, journal entries, liaising with other departments to maintain accurate financial data, assisting management in developing and implementing policies, processes, and procedures to ensure proper accounting function and financial documentation is provided
- Reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts and playing a key role in month-end close process, including multi-currency bank reconciliations
- Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to participating in special projects or ad hoc analyses/projects as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
Education
- Minimum college education in Finance, Economics or Business Studies. (University Degree preferred)
- Commencement of accounting designation would be considered an asset
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of related accounting experience (Project Accounting experience an asset)
- Strong knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
- Strong analytical and MS Excel skills (essential)
- Experience with Sage300 or equivalent accounting system (an asset)
