Note: Please note this role is part of a Hybrid Work Arrangement and resource(s) will be required to work at a minimum of 3 days per week or as agreed with the manager at 5775 Yonge St.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

  • Advanced experience level in the administration and support of IBM Cognos Analytics v11 and later versions, including; installation and build, system tuning and optimization, problem root cause analysis and troubleshooting, version upgrades and migrations
  • Knowledge and experience with technical writing of build and installation guides, scripted and automated deployment methods, tools and techniques and knowledge of industry standards and best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with tools for the creation, distribution and maintenance of the required user documentation and guidelines
  • Experience sustaining large and complex application implementations based on the following technology products:
    • IBM HTTP Server, Apache
    • IBM WebSphere
    • Oracle Database 19c (and later)
    • Linux (e.g., Red Hat Ent Linux)

Description

  • System Management: Install/build, configure/tuning/optimization, and maintenance of IBM Cognos Analytics software and related components. Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability. Apply patches and upgrades to maintain system security and functionality. Implement best practices for efficient report design and data retrieval.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting and resolving issues. Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions to ensure appropriate access control.
  • Create documentation to help operations support team staff effectively utilize Cognos tools.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies to protect sensitive data.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Conduct and/or support regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • aboration and Communication: Work closely with IT teams, business units, and external vendors. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and gather requirements and provide updates. Participate in project planning and execution to support business initiatives.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Advanced experience level in the administration and support of IBM Cognos Analytics v11 and later versions, including; installation and build, system tuning and optimization, problem root cause analysis and troubleshooting, version upgrades and migrations
  • Knowledge and experience with technical writing of build and installation guides, scripted and automated deployment methods, tools and techniques and knowledge of industry standards and best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with tools for the creation, distribution and maintenance of the required user documentation and guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills with cross functional teams and a wide range of audiences
  • Experience with change management and release management as processes supporting the implementation of large and complex applications
  • Experience with incident and problem management processes
  • Ability to analyze the results from functional, load-and-stress testing and resolve reported issues
  • Ability to analyze and solve data integrity, security, configuration and recovery issues
  • Experience on application monitoring and support
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards and in ensuring any or all developed documentations will be accessible
  • Skilled at using standard technical writing tools such as Microsoft Office and/or Adobe Technical Communication Suite
