Truspace is looking for an experienced Site Manager to work alongside the Construction Project Manager to deliver high-profile portfolios of commercial design-builds and refurbishment projects that exceed our client's expectations in Vancouver. The successful candidate has an excellent track record within the industry experience and has extensive experience in a commercial environment. They will also be a highly motivated person who works well within a team and take ownership of their assigned responsibilities, be hands-on with the ability to identify problems and resolve them in as efficient a manner as possible, and be able to build/sustain relationships with the suppliers, trades, clients and the project team, with energy, drive, and total commitment to design excellence.

Please note this is a temporary position for 5 months, starting November 2024.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete general labour tasks on-site as needed.
  • Responsible for receiving and verifying quantities of all material delivery.
  • Lead and complete construction projects and tasks within the agreed-upon deadlines throughout the project.
  • Coordinate sub-contractors and labourers.
  • Build relationships with subcontractors, key suppliers, and other companies that support our operations.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to the client's specifications.
  • Possess the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while adhering to overall deadlines.
  • Ensure that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects.
  • Make sure our company policies and procedures are being followed to at all times.
  • Ensure that the quality of work completed meets our high company standards.
  • Ensuring all OH&S policies and other regulations are adhered to.
  • Be able to efficiently take each project from permit applications through to construction completion.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in the commercial construction industry.
  • BC-related H&S certifications.
  • Able to lead an H&S Committee.
  • Knowledgeable with BC H&S reporting.
  • Have your own tools and be able to self-perform work.
  • At least apprentice-level carpenter/millworker/general contractor.
  • Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Have the attention to detail that each project requires.
  • You will ideally have experience working with leasing and property managers, tenants and building operational staff
  • Reliable, hardworking, strong work ethic and an ability to work as part of a team.
  • You should be familiar with OBC, LEED design and Construction, and Construction Health and Safety standards.
