Job Summary:

Peace Portal is looking to add a Worship & Arts Pastor to give overall leadership to our Worship & Arts department, together with the rest of the Worship & Arts team. This person would be involved in crafting our Sunday service experience as well as leading people in musical worship during our time together. They will also be responsible for developing other creative expressions within our church and will work to develop both staff and volunteers within the department. Some of responsibilities listed below are flexible and will be based on the hours worked each week and the strengths that the successful candidate brings into the team working together in the W&A area.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates and sets vision for the Worship & Arts Staff Team consisting of the Technical Director, Worship Associate, Creative Director and Worship & Arts Administrator
• Articulates and implements a vision of biblical worship with and through other staff and volunteers who participate in worship services and other expressions of worship and arts for the church
• Engages in planning and leading worship for Sunday services, Kingdom Come Worship Nights, and special services in connection with Peace Portal's Mission, Vision and Values
• Engages in planning other creative elements as interest/capacity allows
• Incorporates the arts into worship services by stimulating and encouraging drama, dance, and the visual arts
• Works to recruit and help artists of Peace Portal to joyfully participate in God's mission through their gifts of service in our local context
• Assist in the oversight of developing Peace Portal's Worship & Arts teams both musically and spiritually
• Maintains accountability for the worship vision and philosophy by providing prayer support, credible feedback, and mentoring to worship leaders and volunteers
• Oversees the Worship & Arts team which consists of both staff and volunteers
• Provides leadership to Peace Portal's Technical Director and ensures smooth integration between the Worship and Tech departments
• Manages the Worship & Arts budget

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated passion and experience in facilitating corporate worship encounters with the Living God
• Demonstrated ability/experience in building and equipping healthy teams and leaders
• Above average musical and creative ability, including vocal excellence
• Strong skills in written and verbal communications
• Average working knowledge of computer programs—Word, Excel, Planning Center
• A theological degree; a combination of other education and experience may be considered
• Must be eligible to receive Official Workers credentials and/or be ordained or pursuing ordination with the Christian and Missionary Alliance
• Successful criminal record background check, and vulnerable sector check
