Opportunity:
We are currently searching for a Maintenance Care Partner, to join our Airdrie Care Community in the Airdrie, Alberta. Maintenance is responsible for the day-to-day operations and delivery of high-quality maintenance services.

We are seeking candidates interested in:

Full-time Permanent 37.5 hours per week (Days, weekends)

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:

  • Flexible and a willing to modify services for the overall good of the Residents and Community
  • Demonstrates an awareness of accident and injury prevention; adheres to safe work practices and procedures
  • Providing services in a manner that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values
  • An ability to move freely lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortably stoop, kneel while following proper protocols
  • Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls
  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  • Install appliances and equipment
  • Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash
  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g., ventilation)
  • Check functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm)
  • Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
  • Co-ordinate and assist if required in the Move In/Move Out/Orientation process for Residents
  • Ensuring that services are provided in accordance with best practices, our Well-Being Strategies, quality improvement guidelines, and regulations/standards
  • Strives to attain excellence in Care Partner satisfaction of the maintenance services through ongoing solicitation, surveys, and measurement of feedback
  • Makes improvements in the overall coordination of the Community's maintenance services
  • Being a team builder, active listener, and an important resource to our community
  • Engaging Care Partners in aspects of maintenance experiences, helping everyone become well-known to one another
  • Assisting with daily life within the Community, as needed, such as supporting spontaneous activities, and leading Learning Circles
  • Coordinate and assist if required in the Move In/Move Out/Orientation process for Residents

Skills and key deliverables that will take you further:

  • Obtain prior to employment, a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
  • Trades certification, handyman training and RFP Building Operations training are assets
  • HVAC experience required.
  • Knowledge of OH&S legislation and WHMIS are assets
  • 3-5+ years' experience in maintenance services required
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in building maintenance, grounds work and repair
  • Mechanical aptitude to work on a variety of amenities and equipment
