What we are looking for in a WCM/HSE Coordinator:
WCM Responsibilities
• Create action plans and coordinate actions to meet Quarterly and annual WCM objectives and Key Results.
• Develop a deep knowledge of the AMTB WCM Pillar requirements and tools in detail by training and working with Corporate WCM Coordinator. Guide the Pillar Leaders to implement the methodology.
• Provide WCM training at the local AMTB plant as needed, this includes 5S methodology, One point Lessons, Shop Floor Quick Kaizens, Standard Kaizens, SMED, Value Stream Mapping etc.
• Assist with creating the annual Loss Analysis by guiding Management to use Equipment classification and Cost Deployment tools.
• Leader for the annual WCM assessment at the facility.
• Lead continuous improvement and/or cost reduction activities to enhance the product quality or production systems/ material flow. *May be the Focused Improvement Pillar Leader at the AMTB plant. Ensure cost savings activities are tracked through project charters and reviewed by Management.
• Implement the standard 5S program at the AMTB facility.
• Participate and or lead "Small Teams" activities to implement Autonomous Maintenance.
• Ensure Pillar Boards and Activity Boards are maintained by Pillar Leaders and communication flows between shop floor and Management.
• Coordinate, administer and track the One Point Lesson and Improvement Proposition processes to drive shop floor engagement.
• Communicate and learn from other ArcelorMittal facilities that are implementing WCM.
• Become subject matter expert in KPI definition and calculation. (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, Earned Hours)
• Help to design data collection systems to help automate the loss analysis -Power BI, CMS, IQS, Microsoft Teams
• Keep informed of all industry lean manufacturing best practices and share with all facilities.
• Participate in Integrated Management System Audits across AMTB facilities.
• Participate in Layered Proces Audits in local facility.
HSE Responsibilities
• Comply with all health & safety rules as outlined in the ArcelorMittal Occupational Health and Safety program as well as involvement in the Environmental Management system and the Quality Management System. Known as the Integrated Management System.
• Assist in the maintenance of written HSE programs and procedures to ensure compliance with legal regulations, ArcelorMittal standards and ISO 14001 standards.
• Identify, coordinate and conduct training to ensure compliance as outlined in AMTB's HSE training needs analysis.
• Conduct internal audits for compliance of all AMTB's HSE procedures. Assist in the development and tracking of action plans to address issues.
• Facilitate and participate in accident/incident investigations including problem solving and validation of action items identified to prevent re occurrences.
• Lead Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings and maintain as per HSE standard.
• Conduct HSE orientation with all new employees.
• Maintain document management using IQS to meet compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Facilitate and track closures of NCR's related to HSE for internal and external audits.
• Responsible for the management of WSIB claims and lead return to work activities.
• Manager the Fastenal PPE program to ensure full stock at all times.
• Responsible for completion of daily safety audit and reporting until closure of all issues
• Coordinating Risk Assessments, PDCA etc.
• Maintain confidentiality and trust through positive employee relations.
• Provide timely responses to the needs and questions of employees.
• Assist in creating a culture of safety and fair treatment and positive employee relations.
• Remain current with legislative requirements & compliance.
• Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE Management Standards, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
• Ensure QMS conforms to the requirements identified in IATF 16949 and AMTB Process Map.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field;
- Health & Safety or other relevant training, an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical Skills
- Proficient in MS Office products (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Project Management
- Process control, problem identification and solving
- Statistical / Minitab knowledge
- Power BI

- WCM / Lean Manufacturing tools knowledge (5S, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, VSM). Six Sigma Green or Black Belt training preferred, but not required.
- Automotive experience, AIAG Core Tools working knowledge and application, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 & IATF 16949.
