Job Summary: The People and Culture Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and culture development. This role will play a key part in ensuring that Coast Grocery remains a great place to work by supporting our employees and promoting a positive and inclusive culture. As a family-run company, there may be times when the People and Culture Specialist will need to help with day-to-day operational tasks in the store, in addition to their regular HR duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the company's goals and values.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
  • Foster positive employee relations by addressing employee concerns and providing support and guidance.
  • Oversee performance management processes.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture by organizing employee engagement activities and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide HR support and advice to management and employees.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field would be considered an asset
  • 3 years of experience in a similar HR role would be considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
