The global demand for highly skilled tech talent is tremendously competitive. Integrated into Invest Ottawas Global Expansion team, the Talent teams overall objective is to grow the Ottawa tech talent labour pool by delivering relevant talent attraction and retention programming in support of Ottawa tech employers. Programming is directly targeted at getting world-class national & international talent to our client ecosystem. Reporting to the Manager, Talent Strategy, you will have the opportunity to become a strategic partner to your Manager, your overall team and the clients you support. This means brainstorming, experimenting, collaborating, and ideating quickly to identify and implement the right approaches to getting world-class national & international talent to our client ecosystem. You will play a key role to advise on and develop, iterate, and execute the end-to-end Talent Program with support from the Manager, Talent Strategy. Youll also be delivering the Art & Science of recruiting. The Art encompasses storytelling, place branding, candidate experience, and inspirational leadership, and the Science includes detailed analysis of trends, funnel metrics, and the addressable market.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Operations
Prepare and distribute internal quarterly talent dashboards, ensuring accuracy, and pulling insights for the Managers and Vice Presidents review.
Become the go-to person to both internal and external stakeholders for everything in Talent operations by developing excellent knowledge of our existing tools (incl. our Applicant Tracking System), processes and data.
Support clients (as required) to engage on the Applicant Tracking System.
Guide companies with their Global Talent Stream applications to available support channels and act as a referral partner for their applications.

Talent Attraction (Recruitment, Marketing and Events)
Develop ideas, and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to talent pool growth for the National Capital Region, implementing new processes and projects and fine-tuning standard processes. Leverage our unique tech stack to implement effective Local, National and International talent marketing, events, and sourcing strategies. Lead international Talent attraction activities (events, international missions, place branding campaigns).
Optimize Work in Ottawa website and social channels in collaboration with the Marketing team.
Educate companies on global recruitment best practices and support throughout their recruitment and onboarding process.
Be accountable for Talent recruitment services for companies in Ottawa, encouraging and supporting international recruitment and DE&I
Create engaging content in collaboration with the marketing team, including program collateral, blogs, social media posts, and newsletters, to promote the Work in Ottawa program.
Attract candidates for relevance of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to market demand, and connect job seekers with local employers through targeted marketing and events.


Stakeholder Management
Work closely with our Business Development (BD) and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) teams, as well as Venture Development (VenDev), and Market Insights (MI) teams to build external market intelligence through developing talent insights so our teams can understand the talent landscape that maps to Ottawas knowledge-based economy hiring goals.
Work with community partners to strengthen the Ottawa brand, and attract and retain talent in the region.
Manage and engage with tech companies to deliver talent services that support the FDI, BD and VenDev mandates.
Support the Manager in providing regular program reporting to key internal & external stakeholders.

WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED/GAINED THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER:
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or other related field or its equivalent work experience.
3+ years of professional experience in talent attraction, with a strong focus on talent marketing efforts. in either a recruitment or marketing capacity.
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong comfort and extensive knowledge of social media channels for Talent Acquisition purposes; experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and/or any Ai powered sourcing tools is an asset
Exceptional written and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote a respectful, professional, and positive culture
Strong client service orientation
Proven relationship building and project management skills
Strong sense of initiative
Experience with creating talent acquisition metrics and analytics
Experience with diversity, equity and inclusion in Talent Acquisition roles is an asset
Comfortable with some travel
Experience in job fairs and talent attraction events and/or Talent marketing is a valuable asset
Ability to embrace a changing environment with enthusiasm and humor

Work Expectations

Full time 37.5 hours per week with 10 days per month required in the office.
