The Opportunity

In this role, you'll lead vital operations across multiple regions, developing and implementing best practices that empower our team and enhance our workplace. This opportunity takes place in person in our downtown Edmonton office.

Key Responsibilities

Facility & Supply Chain Management

  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and execution.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues as necessary.
  • Support and integrate a procurement approach that fosters diversity, stimulates local economic development, and promotes environmental sustainability while being fiscally responsible.
  • Monitor adherence to the procurement policy, develop reporting metrics, and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure office consistency across all locations and coordinate office moves and setup.
  • Manage SAP Concur Expense Management training and administration.
  • Distribute and monitor corporate staff parking.
  • Oversee fleet management, including vehicles and equipment such as forklifts and skid steers.
  • Maintain relationships with property owners, building managers ensuring Ballad's leases are monitored.

Asset Management

  • Develop standards and procure technology assets (hardware and software).
  • Track Asset inventory, maintenance schedules, and replacements using standardized inventory management.
  • Manage corporate phone and security systems.
  • Liaise with Ballad's third-party managed IT service provider to ensure contract compliance, efficient technical support, and budget alignment.

Operational Processes & Procedures

  • Monitor and analyze existing processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimize workflows.
  • Create and update department policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Analyze operational costs and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Develop and monitor impact metrics for all key areas within Operations.

Operational Health & Safety

  • Collaborate with the Safety Officer to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and training programs.
  • Monitor regular safety inspections and conduct risk assessments with the Safety Officer.

Staff Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Operations team.
  • Mentor and coach staff, fostering professional development and a positive work environment.
  • Champion Ballad's impact policies, strategies, and commitments.
  • Participate in L10 meetings and set quarterly rocks.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as may arise from time to time and as assigned.
