Job Summary:The Electric Motor machinist will be responsible for set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Ability to fabricate, modify, or repair motor instruments, fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines and should be able to apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Ability to work safely and adhere to all H&S policies
- Able to operate various size lathes and related equipment
- Able to operate Milling machines
- Able to use general machine shop measuring devices
- Able to perform general welding and metal spray
- Able to dismantle and assess the mechanical condition of motor visually as well as using mechanical measuring devices such as verniers, micrometers, feeler gauges etc.
- Compose tasks in an orderly, professional and efficient manner
- Ensure quality standard are met or exceeded
- Complete all documentation in a clear, neat and concise manner
- Interact with the customer, fellow workers to ensure all service standards are met or exceeded
- Adhere to company policies & procedures
- Minimum grade 12 education (or equivalent) preferred with good communication skills in English and strong mathematics & writing skills
- Able to work with or without supervisors and able to make decisions on their own
- Mechanically inclined with a good understanding of industrial process & application
- Must be able to work & interact with others in a fair and friendly environment
- Must have a valid driver license with a clear record
