Job purpose

The purpose of this role is to assist the Warehouse Manager with the day-to-day warehouse activities at Liftsafe Fall Protection. As outlined in this job description, the expectation is for the duties, responsibilities and qualifications to be efficiently performed and for this individual to contribute to the overall growth of the company.

Duties and responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse Worker include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for shipping and receiving internal and external materials
  • Verify incoming shipments are accurate and process in computer system.
  • Ensure shipment deadlines are met
  • Safely operate a forklift/ lift truck
  • Safely operate hand and power tools to cut material to accurate lengths prior to packing/shipping
  • Packaging items for shipment – shrink wrap, strapping, creating custom sized skids
  • Ensure warehouse is kept tidy and organized
  • Support Warehouse Manager with tracking minimum stock requirements
  • Provide additional support to Warehouse Manager as required i.e. vacation coverage
  • Store materials by designating storage areas; adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements.
  • Preparing product for shipment by verifying location; directing movement to staging area; resolving problems.
  • Creating shipping info, bills of lading, etc.
  • Verifying product inventory reports by comparing logs and reports; adjusting entries.
  • Documenting actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Monitoring inventory by completing counts as required.
  • Working with Warehouse Manager to determine inventory needed for current and upcoming projects
  • Communicating with Carriers and Customers (Internal and External)

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Prior experience in a shipping/receiving role
  • Certified on forklift/lift truck
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software, basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team to accomplish projects
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Forward thinking
  • Strong communication skills

Working conditions

Working conditions include:

  • Warehouse environment
  • Varying temperature changes

Physical requirements

Physical requirements of this role include:

  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Frequent and repetitive movement
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely operate forklift
  • Ability to walk for the majority of the day (8-hour shift)
