Salary:

The Product Development CAD Technologist works closely with the Product Design and Product Engineering teams and will be responsible for creating detailed, clear, concise, and accurate technical drawings, schematics, installation manuals, assembly details, and modeling of play structures. This position will also involve travel for on-site product and ride verification.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • At the direction of the Product Development Director and under the supervision of Senior Designers and Engineers the PD CAD Technologist will work on product priorities tied to the delivery of the Product Roadmap and active project priorities.
  • Utilize industry-standard computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 3D models of waterslide components and systems. Ensure the models are to scale, and all critical dimensions and tolerances are accurately represented.
  • Create detailed, clear, concise, and accurate technical drawings, schematics, installation manuals, and assembly details of ProSlide's new and existing products to support manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Maintain and rework existing parts, assemblies, and drawings to conform to current practices.
  • Model play structures in SolidWorks and prepare BOM's for ordering, drawings for third party drafting, and compiling of assembly manuals.
  • Support the Product Designers and Product Engineers with product development processes and creative shape/light effects related deliverables.
  • Work within existing protocols for file creation and storage (PDM software) and adhere to ProSlide's documentation standards.
  • Draft Change Notices to facilitate the release of new or updated technical documentation. Track the progress of change notices to ensure timely completion and seamless integration of modifications across relevant teams.
  • Assist in the testing of waterslide prototypes with hands-on support to Engineers and Designers throughout the prototyping phase.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of technical documentation creation.
  • Perform rigorous checks and verifications on technical drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • On-site product and ride verification; international travel required (up to 15%)
  • Perform activities at ProSlide's main office - 40hrs per week.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

Education:

  • Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology or foreign equivalent

Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years of previous experience as a CAD / mechanical designer role, preferably in the field of product development or amusement park ride design
  • CAD Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) with the ability to create complex 3D models and accurate technical drawings. SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Prior experience conducting Change Notices and operating in a Product Data Management (PDM) environment.
