EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY DIRECTOR OF HEALTH (FULL-TIME)

JOB TYPE: PERMANENT

WAGE: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00

The Health Director is responsible for managing and overseeing Eagle Lake First Nation's Health Centre. The Health Director ensures smooth daily operations, adherence to policies, and delivery of quality health programs. This role involves planning, supervising, and evaluating all health services to meet the community's evolving healthcare needs. The Health Director will consult with Chief and Council on financial matters, manage employee records, and oversee health-related programs, ensuring compliance with workplace standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, direct, and evaluate health services to meet community healthcare
  • Set healthcare goals and objectives aligned with Eagle Lake First Nation's
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies to ensure consistent standards of
  • Ensure all health services staff understand and follow policies and
  • Monitor the quality of care and implement improvement
  • Collect data for program planning and provide monthly reports to Chief and
  • Prepare proposals, reports, and communication program updates to Chief and
  • Oversee health services budget and financial
  • Conduct performance appraisals and support ongoing staff
  • Plan for future staff needs and manage disciplinary actions as
  • Approve budget requests, including travel, training, and
  • Manage security systems, fire inspections, and facility
  • Ensure compliance with insurance and risk management
  • Handle daily crises and coordinate regular meetings with Chief and
  • Assist with audits, financial reporting, and ensure proper

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Human Services, Health Sciences, or related field g. nursing, health care management, home support worker, social development, or other related degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' work experience in management in First Nation health or a combination of related education/training
  • Successful completion of the First Nations Health Directors Association Certification Program considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of health principles, program development, and
  • Experience managing significant programming and departmental
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including healthcare facilities, community organizations, and funding
  • Provide a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector
  • Possess First Aid and CPR certification or willing to
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable
