Job Summary:
The role involves the assembly of electrical power and control panels for large machine subassemblies and the overall wiring, unwiring and rewiring of large hydraulic presses and automation systems both in our factory and in the field at the end user's facility. In addition to new equipment assembly/reassembly at both factory and in the field, the candidate will also perform electrical field service work for warranty and post warranty applications as directed by the plant supervisor and/or the field service manager.
Key Requirements:
- Assembling/building panels, electrical or electronic systems or support structures and units, sub-assemblies, assembly casings etc.
- Performing field wiring (integration) on hydraulic presses and related equipment.
- Adjusting, repairing and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
- Electrical upgrades to existing machinery.
- Connecting main power new machinery in our factory for testing purposes.
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits using appropriate tools like multi-meters, torque drivers, etc.
- Perform electrical disassembly and prepare machines for shipment.
- Fabricate or modify parts, with the approval of engineering and/or the plant supervisor.
- Verify product descriptions, dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to drawing specifications/OEM instructions.
- Perform power up and inputs & outputs check to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Drilling, tapping and installation of the electrical, electronic components such as disconnects/breakers, contactors, inverters, motors, motor drives, power supplies, relays, terminal blocks, PLCs, transformers, sensors, and more.
Qualifications:
· Senior Electricians must possess an industrial electrician license # 442A and 3 to 5 years of experience building control panels and field wiring.
- Junior Electricians require 2 – 4 years' experience building control panels and field wiring.
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Demonstrate experience with CSA and OSHA standards.
- Proficient in the use of productivity tools relevant to the trade including wire/cable strippers, ferrule/terminal/lug crimpers, conduit benders, connector-pin crimpers as well as corded/cordless drill/drivers, hydraulic/pneumatic tool/drivers, torque drivers and more.
- Successful candidates must be flexible and willing to work after hours, weekends and holidays where required.
- Experience and certification to work at heights.
- Drivers License (preferred)
