Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Technician to join our team. The Irrigation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems to ensure that landscapes, lawns, and gardens are properly watered. The ideal candidate should have experience in irrigation systems, a strong understanding of hydraulics, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair variious irrigation components.

Responsibilites:

  • Inspect and test irrigation system to ensure they function properly, adjusting or replacing faulty components as needed.
  • Perform regular maintenance on irrigation systems, including adjusting sprinklers, replacing damaged parts, and programming timers.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues such as leaks, blockages, electrical malfunctions, and pressure problems.
  • Respond to customer requests for reparis, adjustments, and seasonal system changes.
  • Conduct winterization and system start-up procedures, preparing irrigation systems for seasonal changes.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and installations performed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety plicies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school dipolma or GED equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge if irrigation systems, components, and water management principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret irrigation places, blueprints, and techincal manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing skills.
  • Ability to outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour, including digging, lifting and carrying hheavy equipment.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. (Alberta abstracts will be pulled)
  • Certification in irrigation technology (e.g from the Irrigation Association) is preferred but not required.

  • Attention to detail and precision in systems installations and repairs.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
