Horizon is looking for some on call snow and salt laborers to join our team!

Job Details:

Upon being hired, you will need to inform us of your availability via BambooHR. In the event of snow or a drop in temperature, the scheduler will reach out and offer you the shift. We try to give you as much notice as possible, but weather can be unpredictable and this position is fully weather dependent.

Your shift will start at our yard in Squamish where you will meet up with your crew lead and load up the truck with bags of salt (50+ lbs) spreaders and shovels. Your job task will depend on the weather. If the sidewalks are clear, you will need to salt them and document using our iPad and digital forms. If the sidewalks need shoveling, you will have to do so and then salt the sidewalks and document using our iPad and digital forms.

Routes will be assigned and can be viewed via the iPad located in every truck.

Shifts are not guaranteed and this position is seasonal, on-call. Snow and salt shifts are paid at a rate of double time. (So if your wage is $25, you will earn $50/hr)

All applicants must:

• Have a valid driver's license, clean abstract and reliable transportation to get to our yard in Squamish
• Be comfortable driving large pickup trucks
• Ability to work both day and night shifts
• Available to work long shifts on days marked as available
• Have snow gear (steal toed boots, snow pants, gloves, jacket etc.)
• Be physically able to frequently and repetitively lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to use an IPad
• Be reliable! If you mark yourself as available in the scheduling app, we expect you to be able to work the shift (barring extenuating circumstances)
