POSITION SUMMARY
We are actively looking for a Practicum Coordinator to join our Career Services Department. The Practicum Coordinator will work closely with the Career Services and Academic Team under the supervision of the Career Services Manager and oversee the practicum operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Practicum Coordinator are subject to change and additional duties may be assigned over time as the situations require. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure students have met all the requirements for practicum, and coordinate and monitor their practicum placements.
- Foster and develop professional tie-ups with stakeholders including public and private industries.
- Develop positive relationships with potential employers and conduct pre-employment workshops and webinars for our students.
- Work closely with other departments for a smooth practicum process and participate in events for employer tie-ups.
- An understanding of the needs of a diverse student population and how to interact effectively with a multicultural student body and team.
- Facilitate annual student graduate and employment reports to the government and stay updated on the relevant policies and legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of work experience within a business and/or post-secondary education setting; a general or specific understanding of careers within healthcare, business, and technology is an asset.
- Highly motivated and objective-oriented with a high-level attention to detail Ability to work, independently, multitask, prioritize work, and coordinate tasks to meet results in a competitive environment.
- Must have knowledge about the Canadian labor market, strong oral and verbal communication skills, excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, and strong computer skills and updated with digital platforms.
