The Custodial Supervisor plays a vital role for YW Calgary managing our housekeeping team by providing supportive management through hiring, training, scheduling and coaching the team as well as coordinating with external vendors. A key component of this role is to provide team leadership that is safe, efficient and inclusive.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and evaluate a team of approximately fifteen custodians from a psychologically safe and trauma informed approach
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development
- Collaborate and communicate with internal teams and stakeholders on various projects
- Administration Management
- Manage team schedules and workload, assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance and support to team members
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized housekeeping work
- Prepare and present reports on custodial performance, including key metrics and improvement initiatives that support the budget, forecast costs and offer opportunities for improvement
- Safety Compliance
- Maintaining logs of work performed, supply usage and any incidents that occur on the job
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and to identify and address potential issues proactively
- Ensure all cleaning practices meet YW and provincial safety and quality control standards through audits and training
- Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures, including emergency response plans and routine safety drills
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience working in an environment managing a diverse clientele, experience in healthcare, hotel management or other shared accommodations will be considered an asset
- Experience in Health and Safety, SDS, Site Supervision and OH&S
- A valid Alberta driver's license and clean drivers abstract
- CPR & First Aid current certification will be required
- Intermediate experience with MS Suite;
- Demonstrated commitment to and appreciation of diversity, cultural competence and global perspectives that are empowering, enabling and inclusive
