We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team. Working closely with our General Counsel, you will play a key role in all legal dealings within our results driven organization and our growing portfolio of development projects and income producing investment properties. You thrive in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment and will partner closely with cross functional team members, with a particular focus on working with our Finance and Corporate Affairs, Capital Formation, and Acquisitions teams. You will

• Work closely with General Counsel and cross functional team members, including executives, providing guidance on a broad range of legal matters arising across the organization, including in relation to corporate structuring and governance, joint ventures and partnerships, financings, planning, development and construction matters, acquisitions, and other general matters in relation to the ownership, development and management of our portfolio of properties.
• Integrate within key groups in the organization on core initiatives, including our Finance and Corporate Affairs, Capital Formation, and Acquisitions teams.
• Coordinate the work of a broad range of external counsel who provide expert advice and carry out the majority of legal work for Anthem.
• Review and support negotiations for a wide range of contracts, including limited partnership and joint venture arrangements, services and management agreements, purchase and sale documents, leases and financing documents.
• Learn to understand the nuances of how Anthem operates and provide sound direction and support.
• Advise on contract interpretation and negotiation strategies, identify and address contractual risks, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Keep abreast of and advise on changes to laws that might affect Anthem Properties in the jurisdictions we do business
• Play an integral role as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of individuals undertaking exciting, often complex transactions that are core to achieving Anthem's objectives.

You have

• 3-6 years of post-call experience in corporate law, with direct experience in corporate commercial transactions, general real estate development, acquisitions and finance being a significant asset
• Exceptional communication (written and oral) and negotiation abilities; specifically, you have a proven ability to articulate complex legal issues in an understandable fashion – you know how to be direct and keep it simple

Salary Range

• $120,000 - $160,000 dependent on experience.
