Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
  • Stations:
    • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
    • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
    • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description

In charge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for OTG equipment
machinery.

General:

  • Ensure a high standard of safety at any time, strong safety culture.
  • Responsible for setup, launch and develop mechanical workshop in logistic area.
  • Responsible for building a mechanical team to maintain, troubleshoot and repair our equipment fleet.
  • Ensure equipment is always in compliance with Canadian Standards in Ontario.

Operations:

  • Lead the pre-start meeting at the beginning of the shift, explain all safety matters.
  • Prepare work, schedule tasks, and lead teams according to site planning and priorities.
  • Implement procedures and ensure good comprehension of works by the site teams.
  • Ensure safe and smooth operation of its teams and propose solutions when required.
  • Ensure its teams have the proper tools and means to work safely at any time.
  • Follow-up maintenance parts, lubricants in LIP maintenance software.
  • Set-up spare part list, and follow-up spare parts, consignment stock, and consumables with
  • Store Manager to ensure smooth operation.
  • Plan preventive maintenance to maintain equipment with high efficiency rate.
  • Troubleshoot any kind of mechanical breakdown on all heavy equipment on site (Tunnel Crawler 50t, 30t, scoop, Mobile Crane, trucks, trailers, light vehicles, etc.).

Reporting:

  • Ensure daily pre-start is performed on site and recorded in the server.
  • Get daily reports from site team, staff and workers presence and hours done and tasks
  • performed each day.
  • Get the hourly meters / Odometers meters of all equipment on site (km, running hours, etc.)
  • Generate statistics to identify any deviation from normal operation (operation hours, breakdown time, idle time, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree
  • 10+ years' experience in Heavy Equipment fleet maintenance.
  • Excellent knowledge of LIP software
  • Engineering and supervision skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
